Go Solar WNY was born out of a need to provide the Buffalo north towns and Niagara County with a solar panel provider that lives and breathes the mission of renewable energy.  Born and raised in Lockport, NY and educated in Buffalo, Go Solar, LLC founder and owner, Bob Timkey, learned about the environmental and financial benefits of solar power while living and working in Oceanside, California around 2000.  Around that time, rooftop solar panel installation exploded in Southern California and solar panels became a common household appliance. 

Nearly fifteen years after returning home to Western New York to raise his growing family, Bob noticed the landscape in our area coming to resemble what had already happened out West.  Solar technology had improved and developed to the point where rooftop solar now makes sense for most houses in the Buffalo area. Combined with State offered tax incentives and NYSERDA grants, Bob recognized that it was time for his household, and all of his neighbors to go solar.  After contacting and meeting with the few qualified solar providers in the area, Bob found a need for a simpler, more customer-focused approach to provide highly efficient, custom solar solutions to customers in Niagara County and Erie County. So, Go Solar, LLC was born.
